The Standard White Cornish should not be confused with the Cornish Cross Broiler. They are two separate breeds. The Standard White Cornish is hard to get in the USA, compared to the Dark Cornish. White Cornish have thick bodies and large breast. They are a great dual-purpose bird. Hens make good mothers and lay at a rate of about 180 eggs per year. Males make good meat birds. They are much heavier than they appear. Since the White color variety is derived from genetic selection of other color varieties, there may be some red and brown flecks in the birds as they feather out. They will be white and as they mature any colored feathers should go away after the first molt. Valley Farms Hatchery is one of the only mail order hatcheries in the USA to carry this breed.
Valley Farms Hatchery has selectively bred the Standard White Cornish since 2023.
STANDARD WHITE CORNSIH WILL BE VERY LIMITED FOR 2025.
