The Light Sussex is one of many color varieties of the Sussex. The more popular Speckled Sussex is hatched by many. The Light Sussex will carry the same capabilities as the Specked Sussex, but they are white birds with black feathering in their neck and tails. They are similar to a Delaware. They are one of our favorite breeds. Hens will lay 250 brown eggs per 52 week laying period. Males get large and can be used for meat if desired. Chicks are yellow at hatch. We are one of the only mail order hatcheries in the USA to offer the Light Sussex for sale.

Valley Farms Hatchery has selectively bred the Light Sussex since 2024.
